God's Grace

I did not know His love before,
The way I know it now.
I could not see my need for Him,
My pride would not allow.
I had it all, without a care,
The "self-sufficient" lie.
My path was smooth, my sea was still,
Not a cloud was in my sky.
I thought I knew His love for me,
I thought I'd seen His grace,
I thought I did not need to grow,
I thought I'd found my place.
But then the way grew rough and dark,
The storm clouds quickly rolled;
The waves began to rock my ship,
I found I had no hold.
The ship that I had built myself
Was made of foolish pride.
It fell apart and left me bare,
With nowhere else to hide
I had no strength or faith to face
The trials that lay ahead,
And so I simply spoke His name
And bowed my weary head.
His loving arms enveloped me,
And then He helped me stand.
He said, "You still must face this storm,
But I will hold your hand."
So through the dark and lonely night
He guided me through pain.
I could not see the light of day
Or when I'd smile again.
Yet through the pain and endless tears,
My faith began to grow.
I could not see it at the time,
But my light began to glow.
I saw God's love in a brand new light,
His grace and mercy, too.
For only when all self was gone
Could Jesus' love shine through.

Jesus We Seek After

Let us seek in one accord
To know the face of our Dear Lord
When we pray may our souls cry
To see our Dear Lord by and by
May we lift our hearts and sing
Unto our Master and our King
In all that we say and in all that we do
May our Dear Lord's words become manifest now and true.
That we are a people who do fast and pray
To see our Dear Lord everyday
For He is what we live for and wish to see
He's our Master whom we adore
We love him like no other
He's our Savior and our Lord
And may it be said when we reach Heaven's gate
It's the Lord we wish to meet and see
And be with for all Eternity.
For He's the One true treasure
Both in Heaven and on the Earth
In Him there is true laughter
In Him is Holy Mirth
And perchance down here we hear the Holy Angels sing
May we join with them and sing aloud,
"He's the Lord of Lords and King of Kings"
May our hearts cry and daily breath be for
to see our Master and our Lord.
For it we truly love Him above all these things:
Prophecies and Angels
Visions and dreams
Then He need not fear that we'd love the gifts more
For we'd cherish the Giver for He is our Lord
It's His presence we do desire
And His love that we need
To carry us through this life
And on into eternity.
It will not be asked of us at Heaven's Gate
"Do you have any visions of Him or great words to relate?"
But rather, we will hear on that day:
"Did you call Him your Master?
Did you call Him your Lord?
Have your sins been forgiven?
Then Heaven's your reward."
And in that day we won't care who had visions
Or who among us had the dreams
When Christ is standing there before us
As our Everlasting King.
We will bow before our Master
And kneel before our Lord
Just being in His presence
Is all we'd ever asked for.
And so, may this also be true of us today
It's only Jesus we'll seek after
As we kneel and as we pray.

The Power Of God

GOD is my everlasting King;
God is my Strength, and I will sing;
His power upholds my feeble frame,
And I'm victorious through his name.
Devils retreat when he appears;
Then I arise above my fears,
And every fiery dart repel,
And vanquish all the force of hell.
Through the Redeemer's precious blood,
I feel the mighty power of God;
Through the rich aid divinely given,
I rise from earth, and soar to heaven.
Dear Lord, thy weaker saints inspire,
And fill them with celestial fire;
On thy kind arm may they rely,
And all their foes shall surely fly.
Now, Lord, thy wondrous power exert,
And every ransomed soul support;
Give us fresh strength to wing our way
To regions of eternal day.
There may we praise the great I AM,
And shout the victories of the Lamb;
Raise every chorus to his blood,
And triumph in the power of God.
